Samir Samite

Data & BI Specialist | Forecasting, Advanced Analytics & Automation

I help data-driven organisations in telecom, media and technology turn complex datasets into forecasts, dashboards and automated systems that leadership can act on with confidence.

About

An engineer’s discipline, applied to data.

My path into data started in engineering. Trained in aeronautical engineering, I spent my early career designing and modelling complex systems — including a UAV platform built for archaeological reconnaissance in Egypt — where every assumption had to be tested against real-world constraints. That habit of rigorous, evidence-based thinking has stayed with me ever since.

I moved into business and process analysis as a consultant at ELIS in Milan, coordinating data collection across departments, tracking KPIs, and producing the reports that Top Management used to make decisions. It was there that I saw how much value sits in well-structured data — and how often it goes untapped.

Today, as Senior Specialist for Sales Forecasting at Sky Italia, I design predictive models for prospect sales and the active customer base, and build the dashboards and advanced analytics the commercial organisation relies on for top-line and retention KPIs. My focus is turning a stack of spreadsheets into a system: reliable, explainable, and easy for stakeholders to act on.

Outside my core role, I keep building toward where data is heading next — completing a Java & microservices programme, earning a diploma in Blockchain & Digital Assets, and volunteering at AI Week Milan, Europe’s largest AI conference. I work fluently in Italian, English and Arabic, and enjoy collaborating with international, cross-functional teams.

Experience

Where the work has actually moved the needle.

Senior Specialist — Sales Forecasting

Sky Italia · Milan

April 2023 – April 2026

  • Built advanced analytics, reports and dashboards that the commercial team uses daily to track top-line and retention KPIs.
  • Designed and deployed predictive models for prospect sales and for analysing the active customer base, sharpening forecast accuracy.
  • Processed and interpreted large, complex datasets to surface insights that shaped strategic commercial decisions.
  • Acted as the analytical reference point for the commercial area, translating raw numbers into a shared, decision-ready narrative.

Project Management Consultant — Data & Process Analyst

ELIS · Milan

November 2021 – March 2023

  • Specialised in optimising business processes through structured, data-driven analysis across multiple departments.
  • Programmed and coordinated data-collection workflows that brought consistency to previously fragmented systems.
  • Produced periodic corporate reports and presentations for external stakeholders and Top Management.
  • Monitored core KPIs, flagged deviations from corporate targets early, and proposed corrective actions before they became costly.

Java & Microservices Academy

QiBit

October 2021

  • Completed an intensive, project-based programme covering Java SE, web programming, SQL/NoSQL databases and modern system architecture.
  • Built microservices and RESTful APIs from the ground up, applying engineering best practices including unit testing, version control and basic CI/CD.
  • Strengthened the technical foundation that now underpins my approach to automation and tooling in data & BI work.

Selected Projects & Initiatives

Curiosity, international exposure, and initiative.

Alongside my core analytics work, these are the projects and programmes that have shaped how I think — about engineering, about collaboration, and about showing up for things that matter beyond a single role.

2017

UAV for Archaeological Reconnaissance

Thesis · University of Bologna

Designed a specialised drone platform for surveying Egyptian archaeological sites, combining aerospace engineering with the practical constraints of cultural-heritage fieldwork — an early lesson in building technical solutions around a real brief, not a theoretical one.

2026

AI Week Volunteer

Europe’s largest AI conference · Milan

Volunteered at a major AI conference (25,000+ attendees, 250+ exhibitors, 700+ speakers), managing speaker logistics and welcome operations and helping keep sessions running on schedule — a front-row seat to where the AI industry is heading next.

2016

Erasmus+ “Jeunes engagés pour le climat”

COP22 · Marrakech Climate Conference

Took part in an international youth programme on climate awareness held alongside COP22, collaborating with peers from across Europe and North Africa on environmental engagement initiatives.

2015

Erasmus+ “Youth Commitment for Climate”

Parallel project · Paris Climate Conference (COP21)

Contributed to a youth-led project run alongside the Paris Climate Conference, focused on translating climate commitments into concrete action — an early experience in international collaboration and initiative.

Blockchain & Digital Assets

Another data infrastructure worth understanding.

In 2022 I completed the MasterZ Blockchain & Digital Assets diploma (2nd Edition), a focused programme on how distributed-ledger systems actually work — from the mechanics of tokenisation and digital-asset custody to the basics of decentralised finance (DeFi) and the trade-offs involved in building on-chain.

I see blockchain less as a buzzword and more as another data infrastructure to understand: a system with its own incentives, risks and reporting needs. That perspective complements my BI background well when a team needs to make sense of tokenomics, on-chain activity, or digital-asset reporting in plain business terms.
